Conduit For The Music

I wanted to post a video this week that showcases Taylor Hicks' voice-that gorgeous sound wrapped around some heartfelt lyrics. But I came across this video that I haven't seen before and have to share it. Wow.

Someone far more eloquent than I once described Taylor as a conduit for the music. That was never more evident than around the 2:00 mark in this video.

WARNING! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this Taylor Hicks performance. Expectant mothers should not view.

  1. Caryl, I'm so glad I'm in relative good health- I don't think I could have watched this if I had a weak constitution. Thank you for posting this gem.

  2. I'd never seen that before either. Thanks for finding it and sharing it. The music does live through that man for sure!

  3. I hate to say this but I wish he hadn't gone into country, especially after watching that! I feel the blues suit him so much better. He's capable of so MUCH talent!

  8. I like those occasions when he does his sexy moves because he never over does it. Just a tease here and there, and depending where one's mind is, it could be just dancing or something more. Something more suits me. rosie

  9. Oh and I love blusy Taylor and his growls and raspy throat cries and wails. I'm not a jazz fan but I see his jazz influence in his blues. The only songs I don't enjoy or get why he does are the Latin ones. rosie

  10. Can't believe there are some who never saw the infamous "shake and bake" before.
    Love it.

  11. OMG, I can't believe some of you are just now seeing this video. Taylor opened a lot of ears and eyes with that concert.

  12. Caryl, forgive me but I laughed at the most recent comments. Shake and bake has been a chicken coating since the 1960's, check it out. Tay is no chicken, no seasoning or spice. I for one, noticed his sex appeal, when he sang on AI. Some need it in your face. If you are one of those who need a hefty dose to get it, then you were so late to his talent and appeal. He does his music and it is good, real and genuine. I'm not the one to define his sex appeal, if you got it from watching him on AI5, you were atuned to sexiness, if you did not, then you were just latent. rosie
